🚨 3 Dead as Flash Floods Devastate New Mexico’s Ruidoso – State of Emergency Declared

Tragedy struck southern New Mexico on Tuesday as powerful flash floods swept through the village of Ruidoso, claiming the lives of three people — a middle-aged man and two children, aged 7 and 4. The area had already been weakened by wildfires last year, making it highly vulnerable to sudden flooding.
According to Ruidoso Mayor Lynn Crawford, dozens of residents were either trapped in their homes or caught in the fast-moving floodwaters. Emergency crews worked throughout the night to rescue those in danger, and search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
In response to the disaster, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has declared a state of emergency and has appealed to the federal government for urgent assistance.
“New Mexico is mobilizing every resource we have, but Ruidoso needs federal support to recover from this disaster,” the governor stated.
“We’ve seen Texas receive the emergency aid they needed — now it’s Ruidoso’s turn for that same level of urgent response.”
